Westlec Solutions is seeking an experienced, motivated and hands-on Company Accountant / Finance & Accounts Manager to take full responsibility for our finance and accounts operations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to do more than process transactions. We are looking for a commercially minded professional who can manage the day-to-day accounts, maintain strong financial controls, oversee cash flow and provide valuable financial insights to support business decisions.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will have the autonomy to improve systems, develop processes and play a key role in the ongoing growth of the business.

About the role

Initially, you will take hands-on responsibility for the complete accounts function, ensuring financial records are accurate, current and properly managed. As systems and procedures are improved, routine accounts processing can progressively be delegated to administration staff, allowing you to focus on financial management, reporting, forecasting and business improvement.

Your key responsibilities will include:

- Managing accounts payable, accounts receivable and supplier payments.
- Processing and overseeing weekly payroll, including superannuation, PAYG, leave and STP obligations.
- Managing customer invoicing, debtor collections and overdue accounts.
- Completing bank, credit card,



supplier and balance-sheet reconciliations.
- Preparing and maintaining weekly cash-flow forecasts.
- Monitoring upcoming financial commitments and identifying potential cash-flow issues.
- Preparing monthly profit and loss, balance sheet and financial management reports.
- Monitoring operating costs, profit margins and business performance.
- Reviewing job costing, work in progress and uninvoiced jobs.
- Maintaining accurate financial records across multiple business entities.
- Ensuring accuracy between Xero, Simpro and other business systems.
- Preparing BAS/GST information and assisting with taxation and compliance requirements.
- Liaising with external accountants and financial advisers.
- Maintaining asset registers, finance agreements and R&D; financial records.
- Developing and improving accounting procedures, internal controls and approval processes.
- Identifying financial discrepancies and ensuring they are investigated and resolved.
- Training and supervising administration staff undertaking routine accounts functions.
- Providing meaningful financial information and commercial advice to the Managing Director.

About you

We are looking for someone who is organised, reliable, commercially aware and confident taking ownership of the entire finance function. To be successful, you will ideally have:

- Proven experience as a Company Accountant, Finance Manager, Accounts Manager or senior-level bookkeeper.
- Experience independently managing a complete accounts function.
- Strong working knowledge of Xero.
- Experience managing weekly payroll and associated compliance obligations.




- Sound understanding of Australian accounting requirements, BAS, GST, PAYG and superannuation.
- Experience preparing cash-flow forecasts and monthly management reports.
- Strong reconciliation, accounts payable and receivable skills.
- Experience managing financial records across multiple entities.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Confidence communicating directly with senior management.
- The ability to identify inefficiencies and implement better systems and procedures.
- A proactive approach, with the ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines.

CPA, CA or other relevant accounting qualifications will be highly regarded, although demonstrated commercial experience and capability are equally important. Experience with Simpro, manufacturing, automotive, trade services or job-costing environments would be an advantage.
