About the Role

Are you a passionate hospitality professional who thrives on delivering flawless events? Mandala Hotels & Resorts is looking for a energetic, hands-on Conference & Events (C&E;) Manager to spearhead our premier event spaces at the 4.5-star Rydges Armidale.

As the regional hub for corporate conferences, social galas, and bespoke boutique weddings, Rydges Armidale boasts flexible meeting layouts alongside our popular, Turkish-inspired Ottoman Restaurant. In this critical management position, you will own the entire function life cycle—from the initial client inquiry and proposal stages to coordinating floor logistics on the day.

Key Responsibilities

- Sales & Coordination: Serve as the primary point of contact for corporate, government, and private event inquiries. Deliver fast quotes, manage contracts, and build comprehensive run sheets.

- Team Leadership: Recruit, schedule, train, and mentor a casual banquet and food & beverage team, leading by example right on the floor.

- Operational Execution: Oversee event setups, AV coordination, and smooth service flow. Work tightly with our Head Chef to ensure high-quality catering.

- Financial Accountability:



Drive revenue targets through strategic upselling, accurately manage labor cost lines, and optimize beverage inventory.

- Brand Standards: Ensure the 4.5-star service metrics of both Rydges and Mandala Hotels are consistently exceeded.

Skills & Experience

- Proven Track Record: At least 2 years of management or senior supervisory experience in hotel conferencing, banquets, or premium event venues.

- Operational Excellence: Strong technical background in food & beverage operations, function floor management, and rostering.

- Customer Focus: Polished communication and negotiating skills with a natural ability to connect with high-profile corporate clients and bridal parties alike.

- System Savvy: Experience utilizing property management systems (PMS) or event tracking software is highly regarded.

- Flexibility: Availability to work a rotating roster including weekends, evenings, and public holidays based on event schedules.
