We have 70 Instagram followers. Help.
We're one of Australia's fastest growing companies, but how did we get here?
Three entrepreneurs and investors (between us: a company now listed on the ASX and exits worth close to half a billion dollars) teamed up in 2024 with a simple plan: buy established, traditional, non-tech businesses in an underserved market and modernise them with better processes and AI.
We picked education because schools find it surprisingly hard to get simple things done. In 2025 we launched the company, selling physical products for school outdoor spaces. We've since acquired our first bolt-on business, with two more acquisitions lined up for 2027.
Behind the scenes, we’re a tech company. On Instagram, we look like a line-marking business that discovered the internet last Tuesday.
We need someone to fix that.
The job
Make our business look like what it actually is: young, quick, a bit weird, and doing things nobody else in this industry is doing (we wear superhero capes to conferences).
- Make reels. Lots of them. Trends, skits, before-and-afters, timelapses, whatever works. Weird is good. Boring product content is banned.
- Be the face of Schoolyard Heroes. On camera, at installs, at conferences.
- Turn our team into characters. Installers, sales reps, founders. We have a cast. You decide what to do with it.
- Show off the tech. We’ve built our own customer portals, ops and install systems. Most of our competitors still use fax machines. Make people care.
- Make product videos that sell. Learn our products inside out, and the real headaches of principals,
business managers and P&C; committees, then make snappy videos that land in their feeds and make them want to call us.
- Get into the communities. P&C; groups, school Facebook groups, the places parents and principals actually talk.
- Hit the road. We'll fly you to installs around the country to capture the work as it happens.
- Help with the rest. Email newsletters, conference content, and working with an agency to make sure our campaigns use your best stuff.
What success looks like
- Instagram past 10,000 followers
- A steady stream of inbound leads from schools every month, which we can track
- Principals at conferences saying “oh, you’re the schoolyard heroes people from Instagram”
You’re probably someone who
- Has grown an account before (your own counts, maybe best of all)
- Thinks in hooks and sees a trend and immediately knows how to use it
- Is genuinely happy on camera
- Shoots and edits fast on your phone
- Wants full creative freedom and a boss who’ll back weird ideas
- Is curious enough to learn what a business manager loses sleep over
What you get
- Full autonomy. You report directly to James (co-founder) and that’s it for sign-off
- A front-row seat to a company being built and acquiring businesses
- Based in our Caringbah office, with plenty of travel around Australia
- $70,000 - $90,000 + super
