You know what a great corporate event feels like. The room is buzzing, the food lands right on time, and the person who booked it walks away looking like a hero. You also know most of those events are won long before the doors open, in a conversation where someone trusted you to make it happen.
If you love hospitality and love winning the work, we’d love to meet you.
Why this role exists
Hampr brings great food and genuine hospitality into workplaces across Australia, New Zealand and Singapore, through a marketplace of independent caterers, pop-ups and hospitality partners. We already deliver plenty of events for our customers, mostly booked by the workplace and culture teams we work with every day. But inside those same companies sits an even bigger world of events: client launches, marketing events, offsites and celebrations, booked by EAs, marketing and events teams we rarely talk to.
We need someone to look after the events our clients already bring us, and to go and win the ones they don’t yet.
The role
You’ll be Hampr’s go-to expert for complex events (multi-supplier, multi-day, custom and VIP). You’ll look after the steady flow of event requests from our existing clients, and grow that into a recent events vertical by winning spend from the teams we don’t yet work with. Our Account Managers open the doors; you own the conversation through to the close, then design and coordinate the event. Our suppliers deliver on the day, so you won’t be running events on the floor.
What you’ll do
- Look after our clients’ events: own the complex event requests that come in from the workplace teams we already serve,
and make every one a reason to book the next.
- Bring Hampr’s own events to life: plan our internal events and brand activations, and partner with marketing to track the return on each one.
- Win new event business from other teams inside our existing customers and at new companies, from first meeting to signed booking.
- Design complex events with menus and service formats that fit the occasion, meticulous on dietary and allergen details.
- Coordinate suppliers end to end, so everything runs on the day without you needing to be there.
- Make the numbers work: cost events properly, negotiate with suppliers and protect margin.
- Build the engine: help launch platform-assisted quoting, guide our three-person offshore team, and create the playbook that lets the vertical scale beyond you.
How the role grows Your first 12 months are about building: owning complex events for our existing clients, becoming the face of Hampr for events and winning your first new event business, with no hard sales targets. Once platform-assisted quoting is live, most of your time goes on growing and delivering events, both for the clients we already serve and the new teams you’ve opened up. The goal is a vertical that pays for itself,
and then a team around you.
This is you if…
- You’re a hospitality person who loves to sell. You get a buzz from winning the work as much as delivering it.
- You light up a room. EAs, marketing leads, chefs and CFOs all want to work with you.
- You know what’s possible. You can picture the event before the brief is finished.
- You want to build something rather than run someone else’s playbook.
What you’ll bring
- Typically five or more years in hospitality, catering, venue or events sales, with a track record of winning corporate event business.
- Real food and hospitality knowledge, including food safety and allergen awareness.
- Strong B2B sales and commercial skills: pipeline, negotiation, costing and closing.
- Confidence coordinating multiple suppliers and building relationships with senior stakeholders.
- Comfort with CRM and quoting tools, and enthusiasm for new technology.
Bonus points: an existing network among Sydney EAs or corporate events teams, sales experience with a caterer, venue or agency, or experience leading remote teams.
The details
- Sydney-based, full-time and permanent. Three days a week in the office.
- Some travel for customer meetings and supplier visits, including interstate as required
- Complimentary daily coffee
- Weekly team lunch (we are a food company, after all)
- Paid volunteering day each year
How to apply Skip the generic cover letter. Tell us about two or three corporate events you’re proud of: how you won them, how you shaped them, and how you made them happen.
