Requirement Description:

A major financial institution is seeking a Data Analyst to support the data remediation stream of a large-scale migration program. This role focuses on analysing customer and merchant data that didn’t fit the standard migration process, whether due to hygiene issues, mismatches, missing values or translation rule gaps, and turning the patterns found into purposeful business rules and system logic. The analyst will play a critical role in shaping how exceptions are handled, both now and in the future.

Key Responsibilities

- Analyse customer, merchant, transaction and product data to assess migration readiness, identify anomalies and uncover root causes.
- Lead data mapping and validation between legacy and target systems, ensuring accurate migration files and smooth, phased customer transitions.
- Develop and implement data remediation rules, exception handling logic and prioritisation frameworks in collaboration with business and technology stakeholders.
- Automate data processing, transformation, validation and reporting workflows using Python and SQL.
- Build migration tracking tools, exception reports, risk indicators and interactive dashboards using Power BI,

Tableau or Streamlit.
- Partner with product, operations, technology, risk, compliance and data management teams to maintain data integrity, governance and regulatory compliance.
- Translate complex data findings into explicit business recommendations, decision papers and actionable insights.

What You’ll Bring

- 2–4 years’ experience in data analytics within financial services or another regulated industry.
- Proven experience in data migration, system transitions or customer remediation initiatives.
- Advanced Python skills for data processing, automation, ETL and validation.
- Strong SQL expertise, including complex joins, CTEs, window functions and query optimisation, preferably using Teradata or Oracle.
- Experience developing dashboards using Power BI, Tableau or Streamlit.
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with Git-based version control.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate technical findings to non-technical audiences.

Nice to Have

- Exposure to AWS SageMaker.
- Experience using Jupyter Notebooks for exploratory analysis and stakeholder reporting.
