About Sharon AI

Sharon AI is an Australian neocloud, delivering trusted AI infrastructure organisations need to build, train and run AI at scale. We support customers across the full AI lifecycle, from training through to inference and agentic AI, drawing on a strong ecosystem of technology and co-location partners to deliver capability where it's needed. As the first neocloud to join NVIDIA's AI Compute Program, we're growing quickly, scaling our AI Factory platform to meet rising demand for advanced compute.

The Role

As Sharon AI continues to grow, we're looking for a talented Data Centre Deployment Engineer to join our Delivery team and play an important role in making sure each AI Factory is built to design and ready for platform deployment, reporting to our Regional Delivery Manager.

In this role, the Data Centre Deployment Engineer will be Delivery's engineer on site from hardware arrival through physical build and hardware validation. Our platform deployment is done by engineers working remotely, so you'll be the on-site lead for each build, and the eyes and hands for the remote squad. You'll supervise installation partners and cabling contractors, run our own on-site tests and accept results on Delivery's behalf.

You'll work closely with our Infrastructure Deployment Engineers, remote network, infrastructure and platform engineers, Data Centre Operations, installation partners and hardware manufacturers, with exposure to cutting-edge technology at the forefront of AI infrastructure.

What You'll Be Doing

- Receiving and staging hardware, running dead-on-arrival checks and burning in the spares pool
- Staging firmware and settings with the Infrastructure Deployment Engineers
- Confirming site access, power, cooling and connectivity are ready, and keeping the site inventory accurate

- Supervising installation partners and cabling contractors against rack build instructions and frozen rack elevations, including reviewing fibre certification records
- Checking earthing, power and, on liquid-cooled sites, coolant connections with the data centre provider, and recording rack completion sign-offs
- Checking server-level (L10) test reports and coordinating rack (L11) and cluster (L12) tests on site, including where a vendor's specialist team runs them
- Witnessing tests, checking results against Delivery's acceptance criteria, and tracking failures and hardware returns through to closure
- Acting as hands for the remote squad: optics swaps, reseating, cable fixes and console access when out-of-band access fails, and directing remote hands and the manufacturer's field service for simple tasks, faults and returns
- Following site safety rules and inductions, including on active construction sites, and handing over physical as-built records to the squad and Data Centre Operations

What We're Looking For

- 3+ years' experience in data centre deployment or installation
- Strong experience with GPU or compute server hardware
- Experience with racks, power and structured cabling, including fibre
- Experience supervising contractors on site
- Hardware fault-finding and return (RMA) process experience
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- A proactive, collaborative and solutions-focused approach
- Strong attention to detail and accurate record keeping
- A genuine interest in AI,

technology and what Sharon AI is building

Nice to have:

- Direct liquid cooling experience
- Fibre testing (OLTS, OTDR)
- Experience with NVIDIA HGX or GB-series hardware (such as B300 and GB300 systems)
- General construction induction (White Card), or willingness to obtain one
