Harrison McMillan is seeking an experienced Database Administrator / Senior Infrastructure Engineer with specialist database administration expertise across enterprise database platforms.

This is a long-term 12-month contract with extension options up to 24 months and is based in Canberra, Adelaide, Brisbane, or Melbourne. Hybrid working arrangements are available.

Due to the nature of this role, An NV1 Security Clearance is required for the role prior to starting work under any contract.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide specialist database administration expertise across SQL Server, Db2 z/OS, Db2 Midrange and MongoDB platforms.

- Support database upgrade, migration and optimisation activities.

- Assess database environments and identify upgrade, compatibility, migration and operational risks.

- Optimise database performance and remediate database issues.

- Ensure data consistency, integrity and availability.





- Support database technologies in containerised environments.

- Collaborate with technical teams on planning, testing and implementation activities.

- Produce technical documentation and support knowledge transfer activities.

Essential Criteria:

- Expert-level Microsoft SQL Server administration experience.

- Expert-level IBM Db2 z/OS administration experience.

- Expert-level IBM Db2 Midrange administration experience.

- Expert-level MongoDB administration experience.

- Experience supporting database platforms in containerised environments.

- Proven experience delivering controlled database upgrades and migrations while maintaining service continuity and data integrity.

Desirable Criteria:

- Experience working in complex government or enterprise ICT environments.

- Experience contributing to knowledge transfer, technical documentation and team capability uplift.
