About the role

Morgan Dental Centre is seeking a Dental Receptionist / Assistant to join our welcoming team in Wagga Wagga, NSW. This is a part-time position that plays a vital role in delivering exceptional patient experiences and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of our dental practice. You will be the first point of contact for our patients, combining administrative expertise with clinical support to create a professional and caring setting.

This role is integral to our success, bridging the gap between our patients and clinical team whilst maintaining the highest standards of patient care and practice management.

Key responsibilities

- Greeting and welcoming patients with a warm, professional demeanour, creating a positive first impression
- Managing patient appointments, scheduling, confirmations and managing the practice diary efficiently
- Handling patient inquiries regarding treatments, costs, availability and general dental health information
- Processing patient registrations, updating and maintaining accurate patient records and documentation
- Processing payments, managing invoices and handling financial transactions with accuracy
- Assisting the dental team during patient treatments by providing chairside support and instrument preparation
- Sterilising and maintaining dental instruments and equipment in accordance with infection control protocols
- Managing patient communication, including appointment reminders and follow-up correspondence
- Maintaining a clean, hygienic and organised reception and treatment areas
- Supporting practice administration, including ordering supplies and managing stock levels

What we're looking for

- Previous experience working in a dental practice, medical or healthcare setting (or equivalent customer service experience)
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a professional and empathetic approach




- Proficiency with dental practice management software and general computer literacy
- A genuine interest in providing outstanding patient care and support
- Reliability and commitment to maintaining high standards of professionalism and confidentiality
- Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and administrative tasks
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team whilst also managing tasks independently
- Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures is desirable but not essential – we are happy to provide training for the right candidate
- Current First Aid certification or willingness to obtain one is preferred
