Permanent | Full time (1.0FTE)
Commencing January 2027
Georgiana Molloy Anglican School is seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Design and Technologies Teacher to join our Secondary School from the commencement of the 2027 academic year.
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator who enjoys inspiring students through creativity, problem-solving, practical learning and contemporary technologies. We are particularly interested in hearing from teachers who can contribute to our Design and Technologies program through experience, expertise or a strong interest in Materials Technology, Mechatronics Engineering and Digital Technologies.
The successful applicant will create engaging, inclusive and challenging learning experiences that encourage students to think creatively, design with purpose and develop the practical and technological skills needed for an increasingly innovative world.
About the Role
Working collaboratively within the Secondary School, the successful applicant will plan and deliver high-quality curriculum and assessment programs, using contemporary and evidence-informed teaching practices to engage students and support strong learning outcomes. The role requires the capacity to teach across relevant year levels and contribute positively to curriculum development, innovation and continuous improvement within the School.
Ideally, you will bring experience, expertise or a strong interest in one or more of the following areas:
- Materials Technology, including design, manufacturing and practical workshop-based learning;
- Mechatronics Engineering, including General and/or ATAR Engineering courses;
- Digital Technologies and contemporary technology-based learning;
- Emerging technologies, including 3D printing, laser cutting and digital fabrication; or
- An interest in applying innovative teaching practices that encourage creativity, problem-solving and practical application of technology.
We welcome applications from teachers who may not have experience across all these areas but demonstrate a genuine passion for Design and Technologies education and a willingness to further develop their expertise. We are seeking a curious, forward-thinking educator who embraces innovation, builds positive relationships with students, collaborates effectively with colleagues and enjoys contributing to a supportive school community.
About You
You will be a qualified teacher who holds current registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia (TRBWA), or is eligible to obtain registration. You will demonstrate the capacity to create safe, inclusive and engaging learning environments, build positive relationships with students and colleagues, and inspire young people through a genuine passion for teaching and learning.
The successful applicant will also be expected to contribute to the broader life of GMAS, including pastoral care, professional learning, School activities and our co-curricular program.
How to Apply
Applicants are required to submit:
- a cover letter outlining their interest in and suitability for the position;
- a current resume, including relevant qualifications and experience; and
- a written response addressing the Selection Criteria contained within the Position Description. The Position Description is available on the GMAS Careers page.
Applications should be submitted via the Georgiana Molloy Anglican School Careers Page (www.gmas.wa.edu.au/careers) by Monday 19 October 2026, at 8:00am (AWST). GMAS reserves the right to commence the shortlisting and interview process prior to the advertised closing date.
