BEST IN WEST MECHANICAL REPAIRS PTY LTD We are looking for a skilled and motivated Diesel Motor Mechanic to join our workshop. You will maintain, test and repair diesel engines and the mechanical systems of heavy vehicles, including transmissions, suspension, steering and brakes.

responsibilities Identify and diagnose faults in diesel engines, mechanical systems and components. Use computerised diagnostic equipment to test components and pinpoint issues. Strip down and remove engine assemblies, transmissions, steering systems and other components, and inspect parts for wear or damage.

Repair or replace worn and faulty parts, and rebuild mechanical components using manufacturer service manuals where required. Reassemble engines and components once repairs are complete. Test and fine-tune repaired parts and systems to ensure they perform correctly and safely.

Carry out scheduled servicing, including oil changes, lubrication and engine tune-ups, so vehicles run efficiently and meet emissions requirements. Maintain,



test and repair the mechanical systems of trucks, buses and heavy vehicles, including transmissions, suspension, steering and braking systems. Inspect vehicles for roadworthiness, issue roadworthy certificates where appropriate, or document the work needed to bring a vehicle up to standard.

Qualification &

experience Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or an equivalent relevant trade qualification). 1–3 years’ experience as a Diesel Motor Mechanic or in a similar heavy vehicle role. Solid diagnostic and problem-solving skills, including use of computer diagnostic tools. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safe work practices. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
