Director, Impact & Systems Practice – GoodWolf
Melbourne (hybrid) | 0.8–1.0 FTE | 12-month fixed term, with intent to renew | Salary Range +$180k TRP (FTE), subject to experience
Most advisory firms see one side of the table; GoodWolf sees both.
At GoodWolf, we advise funders and changemakers alike: families, foundations, family offices and for-purpose organisations, social enterprises and charities. That gives us a rare vantage point – a sector-wide view of how and where impact capital is moving, where impact is being created and where it’s getting stuck.
In the last few years, we’ve been building up our impact practice (theory of change development, impact measurement frameworks and evaluation) and engaging in more sector-wide reviews looking at the broader system. We’re now looking for a Director to lead and grow this impact measurement practice, and bring systems-thinking practice to the table at a pivotal moment in our growth.
About GoodWolf
Since 2019, GoodWolf has become one of Australia’s most trusted social impact advisory practices. We’ve advised our peak Philanthropy Australia on its latest Strategy 2033, authored reports on Catalytic Capital with Paul Ramsay Foundation and on a recent study into work integrated social enterprises – or WISEs – for Westpac Foundation. We’ve also engaged a host of social enterprises to deliver on their SEDI grants and supported a large Victorian-based funder through a granting review.
Across our portfolio of work, our purpose is simple: activating capital, creativity and capability in service of community.
We work with Boards and leadership teams on the questions that matter most: structure, governance, strategy, philanthropy, program design, impact investing, and impact and evaluation. We sit at the table as trusted advisers and critical friends. We build connection,
challenge assumptions and facilitate the conversations that shape strategy and drive impact. And we’re a certified B Corp, so our own policies, practices and procurement are aligned with our mission.
The Opportunity
This is a chance to shape a practice, not just join one. You will:
- Lead the development and delivery of our impact measurement and systems-thinking practice, and weave it through our strategy, governance and philanthropy work
- Lead a diverse portfolio of projects alongside a team of experienced sector practitioners
- Build relationships across the for-purpose and philanthropic sector, and take a leading role in business development
- Contribute thought leadership through writing, speaking and sector convening
- Help grow a team deeply committed to a more just, fair and sustainable community
What We Value
Our values are Connect, Alchemy, Delight and Essentialism. In practice, that means generosity, critical thinking, great relationships, a healthy dose of humility, and a bit of magic.
About You
· Well-connected in the for-purpose sector, with good networks and a growing public profile
· Deep expertise in impact measurement and evaluation, and applied experience in systems thinking
· Confidence working with complex stakeholder groups, Boards and leadership teams to build collaborative solutions
· At least 7 years’ experience in consulting, the for-purpose sector or a related field
· Relevant tertiary qualifications, or equivalent depth of professional experience
Bringing something we haven’t listed? We’d love to hear about it.
