Looking for a great, motivated Disability Support Worker!
Kinaya – Adelaide, SA
About Kinaya
At Kinaya, we do disability differently. We are a forward-thinking, NDIS-registered organisation committed to high-integrity, relationship-driven support. Our focus is on complex care, mental health, and innovative housing pathways — including SDA and SIL solutions across Adelaide.
We work closely with participants, families, clinicians, and support coordinators to build long-term, stable, and empowering support ecosystems.
We are growing — and we are looking for the right people to grow with us.
The Role
We are seeking a Disability Support Worker who has a strong interest in — or background in — mental health, psychosocial disability, and complex support needs. A nursing background is not essential. What matters most is emotional intelligence, integrity, and a genuine desire to help individuals live more independent, empowered lives.
You will work with participants across home and community settings, supporting daily living, emotional regulation, goal progression, and community participation.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver person-centred supports aligned with participant goals
- Support participants with psychosocial disability and/or complex needs
- Assist with daily living activities (personal care, community access, routines)
- Encourage skill development and independence
- Support emotional regulation and behavioural strategies
- Liaise with families, clinicians, and support coordinators
- Maintain accurate progress notes and documentation
- Contribute to a positive and secure support team culture
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in disability, mental health, youth work, psychology, social work, teaching, nursing,
or allied health (students welcome)
- OR strong interest in mental health and complex care
- Excellent communication and rapport-building skills
- Calm, grounded, and emotionally intelligent approach
- Reliability and professional boundaries
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Driver’s licence and reliable vehicle
Why Work With Kinaya?
This is not just a support worker role — it is a growth pathway. We are building something long-term and structured. As we expand across Adelaide (including SDA/SIL developments and complex mental health services), there will be opportunities to:
- Step into Team Leader roles
- Transition into Case Management or Operations roles
- Move toward Support Coordination pathways
- Develop into Service Management positions
- Contribute to new service lines as we scale
If you demonstrate leadership, initiative, and alignment with our values — we promote from within.
Our Values
- Integrity first
- Long-term thinking
- High-quality, relationship-based support
- Growth mindset
- Innovation in disability housing and service delivery
- Professionalism without losing humanity
What We Offer
- Competitive pay aligned with SCHADS Award
- Supportive leadership and mentorship
- Flexible shifts
- Exposure to complex mental health and high-level case work
- Clear internal progression opportunities
- A chance to be part of a growing, forward-thinking organisation
Who This Role Suits
This role is ideal for someone who:
- Wants to work meaningfully in mental health
- Is studying psychology, nursing, social work, OT, or teaching
- Wants more responsibility and growth than a standard support worker role
- Sees disability support as a career — not just a job
