Our NIH-funded trial simplifying testing and treatment for hepatitis C virus and HIV in the United States has been selected as a UNSW Scientia PhD Project starting in 2027. The prospective PhD candidate will be based at the Kirby Institute and collaborate closely with Duke Clinical Research Institute in North Carolina, USA.

Opportunity The PhD project may use data from the randomised trial, complemented by in-depth stakeholder interviews and mathematical modelling, depending on their expertise and interests.





Stipend is $39,991 per annum for 3.5 years plus a $25,000 Global Mobility Grant to support candidate skill and network development.

Qualifications

- An appropriate Bachelor degree with first or upper second class Honours from UNSW; OR
- A completed Master by Research, with a substantial research component and demonstrated capacity for timely completion of a high-quality research thesis; OR
- A qualification from another tertiary institution at a level considered equivalent by the Faculty Higher Degree Committee.
