The trustee for SBC Trust We are seeking an experienced Earthmoving Plant Operator (General) to operate a range of earthmoving equipment across our civil and mining projects. You will prepare work areas, move and distribute materials, and complete earthworks to project specifications while working closely with supervisors and other operators.

Key responsibilities Operate a range of earthmoving plant, such as excavators, loaders, dozers, graders and rollers, according to demonstrated competency and authorisation. Excavate, move, spread, level and compact soil, rock and other materials. Complete site preparation, bulk earthworks, roadworks and drainage activities.

Read and follow work instructions, site plans, levels and survey markings. Select appropriate attachments and operating methods for assigned tasks. Load trucks safely, maintaining appropriate load distribution and communication with drivers.

Monitor ground conditions, slopes, underground services and overhead hazards before and during work. Maintain protected distances from personnel, vehicles and other equipment. Complete pre-start inspections and monitor equipment condition throughout the shift.

Report defects promptly and undertake routine cleaning, lubrication and basic maintenance within competency. Follow isolation procedures when inspecting or maintaining equipment. Complete daily production records, equipment hours and other required documentation.

Follow site traffic management, environmental and safety requirements. About you Essential requirements: Demonstrated experience operating a range of earthmoving plant in civil construction, mining or similar operations. Relevant plant competency evidence, such as nationally recognised units of competency, tickets or verified operating experience.





Ability to complete company and site verification of competency assessments. Current driver’s licence. Ability to interpret work instructions and carry out earthworks accurately.

Practical understanding of ground conditions, safe operating limits and working around other equipment. A reliable approach, clear communication and strong commitment to safety. Ability to meet the inherent requirements of the role and complete relevant pre-employment assessments.

Highly regarded: Certificate III in Civil Construction Plant Operations or a relevant equivalent qualification. Experience operating multiple types of earthmoving equipment. Road construction, drainage, rehabilitation or mining earthworks experience.

Experience using GPS machine guidance systems. Construction White Card and relevant site inductions. HR or higher driver’s licence.

Site-specific induction and competency verification Salary: $95,000.00 - $105,000.00 per annum plus superannuation, with the final offer reflecting experience and the applicable market salary rate.
