Play to Learn Toukley is seeking a passionate, qualified Early Childhood Teacher to join our team as Preschool Team Leader and Senior Leader of the service, initially in a maternity leave position, with exciting opportunities for career progression as we expand across the Central Coast in 2027.

This is an ideal opportunity for an educator ready to step into leadership, lead a preschool team and work alongside the Centre Director to support the broader leadership, operations and educational quality of the service.

Although the position initially covers maternity leave, we have two new Central Coast centres planned to open in mid-2027, creating anticipated opportunities across Early Childhood Teaching, Team Leadership, 2IC, Educational Leadership and Centre Director roles. We are passionate about developing our own people and creating genuine pathways for our team to grow with us.

We are an established, financially stable organisation experiencing sustainable growth, with strong community demand and a waitlist of more than 500 families at our Toukley centre.

Your Role

As Preschool Team Leader and Senior Leader, you will lead the preschool team while working closely with the Centre Director as part of the service's senior leadership team.

You will balance leadership and team mentoring with hands-on teaching, helping maintain our high standards while developing your leadership skills.





Your responsibilities will include:

- Preschool Team Leadership: Guide and support the preschool team, strengthen collaboration and promote consistent, high-quality practice.

- Educational Excellence: Lead curriculum planning, intentional teaching, critical reflection and meaningful learning experiences.

- Senior Leadership Support: Work alongside the Centre Director to support daily operations, compliance, team culture and continuous improvement.

- Mentoring & Development: Support educators to strengthen their practice and deliver our signature Academic Enrichment Program and Empowered Children's Program.

- Family & Community Connections: Build genuine relationships with families and contribute to our welcoming community.

- Professional Growth: Participate in leadership training, mentoring and development to prepare for future opportunities within our growing organisation.

What We're Looking For

We are seeking someone who:

- Holds an ACECQA-approved Early Childhood Teaching qualification.

- Has experience in early childhood education and preferably 2 years’ experience in leadership positions.

- Is passionate about preschool education and high-quality educational practice.

- Has robust communication, organisation and relationship-building skills.

- Is confident supporting, guiding and mentoring educators.

- Has a growth mindset and is committed to ongoing professional development.

- Shares our values and commitment to a supportive, collaborative workplace.

Previous leadership or 2IC experience is highly regarded, but we also welcome an ambitious Early Childhood Teacher ready to grow into a senior leadership role with the right support.
