Overview

FSR Group Services is a South Australian electronic security specialist offering comprehensive installation, servicing, and maintenance solutions for residential, commercial, and industrial clients. We specialise in electronic security systems, including CCTV, access control, alarms, intercoms, gate automation, and solar-powered security systems.

We are looking for a full-time Electronic Security Technician to join our team. The technician will be responsible for installing, commissioning, servicing, and maintaining a wide range of electronic security systems while representing FSR Group Services professionally at all times. This position is predominantly field-based across metropolitan and regional South Australia.

Main tasks

- Install, commission, service and maintain electronic security systems including alarms, CCTV, access control, intercoms, gate automation, solar-powered security systems, battery systems and associated infrastructure.
- Contribute to innovation to improve current systems and processes and address system deficiencies.
- Diagnose faults, collaborate and identify solutions, complete approved repairs
- Program, configure, test and commission security systems including Ajax, Hikvision and other approved security platforms.
- Test all installed or serviced equipment to verify correct operation prior to leaving site.
- Ensure all installations and service work comply with Australian Standards, manufacturer specifications, relevant legislation and FSR Group Services procedures.
- Gathers internal customer business requirements; works with security system design and engineering resources to translate into actionable technical requirements
- Works on special projects providing technical assistance to users and other support employees.
- Performs all identity administration duties to include issuing cards and managing access control rights for customers as well as FSR Group Services.
- Organise, prioritise,



and complete preventative maintenance and reactive service requests.
- Maintain company vehicles, tools and testing equipment in a clean, secure and serviceable condition.
- Mentor, train, and supervise apprentices, trainees, and junior technicians on-site.

Required/Relevant Qualifications & Work Experience:

- Minimum of a Certificate III in Electronics and Communications qualification plus minimum 1 year’ relevant work experience.
- 3 years’ relevant work experience may substitute the formal qualification.

Required/Relevant Skills & Knowledge:

- Electronic security systems including alarms, CCTV, access control, intercoms and gate automation.
- Ajax, and other industry-standard electronic security platforms and equipment.
- Structured cabling principles and installation practices.
- IP networking fundamentals.
- Solar-powered security systems, battery storage and low-voltage power systems.
- Fire detection systems (where licensed and authorised).
- Australian Standards relating to electronic security and cabling.
- Work Health and Safety legislation and safe work practices.
- Microsoft Office and electronic job management systems.
- Network operating systems, desktop operating systems, user applications and system integration.
- Installation, servicing, commissioning and maintenance of electronic security systems.
- Fault finding, diagnostics and system testing.
- Programming and configuration of security equipment.
- Reading and interpreting plans, wiring diagrams and technical documentation.
- Safe use of hand tools, power tools and electronic testing equipment.
- Effective verbal and written communication.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Accurate documentation and record keeping.
- Professional customer service and stakeholder management.
- Drivers licence
- White card
- Security licence (installations) (Preferred)
- Cabling registration (Preferred)
- Telescopic handler qualification (Advantageous)

Annual salary will be between $80,000.00 to $90,000.00 (plus superannuation) depending on level of experience.
