Matching Minds | In-Home, One-on-One Tutoring

Matching Minds is looking for knowledgeable, enthusiastic and engaging English tutors to support students from Years 1 to 10 across Yarraville and Melbourne's inner-west.

Being great at English is one thing. Being able to connect with a student and help them understand it is another.

We're looking for tutors who can do both.

Whether you're a university student, an experienced tutor or a qualified teacher, what matters most to us is your subject knowledge, your ability to engage students and your passion for helping them succeed.

About the Role

You'll deliver personalised, one-on-one English tutoring in students' homes, helping them develop their skills, overcome learning challenges and build confidence.

You'll support students with

- Reading, writing, spelling and grammar
- Literacy and reading comprehension
- Creative and persuasive writing
- Essay writing and text analysis
- School assessments and homework
- Building confidence and stronger study habits

What We're Looking For
- Strong English knowledge across Years 1–10 and an understanding of the Victorian curriculum
- The ability to explain concepts clearly and adapt to different learning styles
- An engaging, patient and approachable personality
- Excellent communication skills and reliability

- A genuine ability to connect with children and teenagers
- A current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain one before commencing)

Previous tutoring or teaching experience is an advantage, but not essential. We're more interested in how well you teach and connect with students than the qualifications on your CV.
