Enterprise Account Executive | Melbourne or Sydney | $350K+ OTE

Workbench International builds job-costing and project management software for civil, construction, trade and engineering contractors. It covers cost control, forecasting, payroll and field mobility, all built on commercial financial management rather than bolted onto a scheduling tool.

For more than 30 years it grew the way good founder-led businesses do: through referrals and reputation, with customers who stay.

In 2026, Riverside Company, a North American private equity firm, acquired the business. The growth plan is clear. They want to professionalise go-to-market, invest behind sales, and push harder into Australia and international markets over the next 3–5 years.

The business has 50 people across Auckland and Melbourne. Around 20 consultants handle implementation, support and consulting, and around 20 work in product and engineering.

The opportunity now is to join the company at a time when significant investment and energy are poured into the sales and marketing functions to help this grow to recent heights.

Why This Role?

- $350K+ OTE for the right candidate we are negotiable
- Enterprise deals starting around $80K a year. These are fewer, bigger, considered sales, not volume.
- PE-backed with a stated growth mandate. Riverside's thesis rests on sales and GTM, so that's where the support goes.
- You'll be the senior enterprise seller in Australia, not one of ten.
- You inherit 30 years of market reputation, existing relationships and a structured handover.
- Smaller deals go to a dedicated Inside Sales seller, and a BDR function is being built to drive outbound. Your time stays on enterprise.
- A 20-person consulting team handles implementation and support. You sell, and they deliver.

What You'll Actually Do

- Own the Australian enterprise cycle end-to-end: discovery, demo, proposal, negotiation and close.
- Run proper discovery first.

You'll learn how a contractor costs jobs, runs payroll and forecasts before you show a single screen.
- Build and run heavily customised demos, often three or four two-hour sessions per deal, for finance, operations, project and executive stakeholders.
- Work multi-stakeholder deals with CFOs, financial controllers, ops managers and owner-operators.
- Take over live enterprise opportunities and key relationships through the handover.
- Build outbound pipeline into target contractors alongside the new BDR function.
- Feed what you hear in the market back into product and GTM while the sales engine is being built.
- Meet contractors where they work: client sites, industry events and boardrooms.

Who This Suits You don't need a construction background. What matters is whether you can run a long, consultative sale and stay credible in front of a finance team.

- You've sold complex B2B software such as ERP, finance, job management or field service, with deal values in the high five to six figures.
- You'd rather understand a client's cost codes than recite a feature list.
- You can run the demo and keep the room with you.
- You don't need a big sales floor around you to perform.
- You want a say in how enterprise sales gets built, not just a number to chase.

Construction, trades or contractor software experience helps a lot, but it isn't essential. Credibility with financially minded buyers matters more.

Why This Is Different

Most PE-backed "growth" roles drop you into a business with a sharp investor deck and not much underneath it. This is the other way around: a mature product, loyal customers, decades of market credibility, and an investor now putting money behind sales.

Most enterprise roles also make you one seller among many. Here, Australian enterprise is yours. You shape and grow the function first.

The timing matters too. The sales function is being built right now. Get in while the playbook is still being written.
