About the Role

Fast Labour Hire is seeking an experienced Commercial Site Manager on behalf of a well-established commercial builder delivering high-quality commercial construction, structural works, refurbishments and premium fit-out projects across Melbourne.

We are looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented Site Manager who can confidently manage projects from early structural stages through to final fit-out and handover. This role requires more than strong site leadership — the successful candidate must have an exceptional eye for detail, particularly when it comes to OHS compliance, site documentation, administrative systems, quality control and client relationships.

You will be responsible for maintaining a safe, organised and professionally run site while ensuring works are delivered on programme, to specification and to the highest standard of workmanship.

The ideal candidate is equally comfortable managing subcontractors on the tools, reviewing site documentation, maintaining compliance systems and communicating directly with clients and project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage commercial construction projects from structural commencement through to fit-out, completion and handover.

- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, suppliers and site personnel to ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and to specification.

- Drive construction programmes, manage sequencing and proactively address delays or site constraints.

- Maintain a high level of attention to detail across all aspects of construction, including structural works, finishes, defects and quality assurance.

- Take ownership of site OHS systems, ensuring all safety requirements, procedures and documentation are current, accurate and consistently maintained.

- Utilise HammerTech to manage site inductions, SWMS, toolbox talks, pre-starts, inspections, incident reporting and other compliance requirements.

- Maintain accurate site records, daily reports, progress updates, registers, checklists and relevant project documentation.

- Conduct regular site inspections to identify safety risks, quality issues and non-conforming works,



ensuring corrective actions are implemented promptly.

- Lead daily pre-start meetings and coordinate site activities to maintain productivity and safe work practices.

- Liaise professionally with clients, project managers, consultants, subcontractors and other stakeholders, maintaining strong working relationships throughout the project.

- Provide clear and timely communication regarding site progress, programme requirements, variations, potential risks and outstanding issues.

- Manage defects, coordinate rectification works and ensure a smooth, professional handover.

- Ensure all works comply with applicable Australian Standards, building regulations, OHS legislation and company procedures.

About You

You are an experienced Commercial Site Manager who takes pride in running a well-organised, safe and high-performing construction site. You understand that successful project delivery requires a combination of practical construction knowledge, strong leadership, exceptional administration and clear communication with clients.

To be successful, you will demonstrate:

- Minimum 8 years' experience as a Site Manager within the Australian commercial construction industry.

- Proven experience delivering both structural construction works and high-end commercial fit-outs.

- Strong understanding of construction methodology, structural sequencing, programme management and fit-out delivery.

- Exceptional attention to detail, particularly regarding OHS compliance, site administration, documentation and quality control.

- Extensive working knowledge of HammerTech and construction safety management systems.

- Strong understanding of SWMS, site inductions, pre-starts, toolbox talks, safety inspections, incident reporting and compliance records.

- The ability to maintain accurate,



up-to-date site documentation without compromising site productivity.

- Proven ability to manage multiple subcontractors and coordinate trades in busy, live construction environments.

- Excellent client-facing skills, with the confidence to liaise directly with clients, consultants and project stakeholders in a professional manner.

- Strong organisational, leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.

- A proactive mindset, with the ability to identify and resolve issues before they affect safety, quality, programme or client expectations.

- A commitment to delivering projects to a consistently high standard, from structural works through to premium finishes and final handover.

Essential Requirements

- Minimum 8 years' experience as a Commercial Site Manager.

- Current White Card.

- Current First Aid Certificate.

- Strong knowledge of Australian building standards, construction practices and Victorian OHS requirements.

- Demonstrated experience across both structural construction and commercial fit-out projects.

- Strong working knowledge of HammerTech and site safety management systems.

- Excellent administrative skills and a proven ability to maintain detailed, accurate compliance documentation.

- Strong communication skills and experience managing client relationships.
