Experienced Disability Support Worker – Blacktown NSW Concrete Schoolyard | Psychosocial & Disability Support Location: Blacktown NSW 2148 Employment Type: Independent Contractor – ABN Required Shifts: Wednesday, Friday and alternate Sundays Hours: 9:00 am – 3:00 pm Additional Hours: Potential to increase over time About the Role Concrete Schoolyard is seeking an experienced, reliable and compassionate disability support worker to support a 55-year-old male participant in the Blacktown area. The participant has a traumatic brain injury (TBI), spinal injury and a history of seizures. Supports involve personal care, community access, transport and assistance with everyday activities.

Excellent spoken English and clear, easily understood communication are essential requirements for this position. The participant has experienced significant communication difficulties and distressing experiences with previous support providers. We are seeking someone who understands trauma-informed care, respects boundaries and can establish a consistent, trusting working relationship.

Essential Requirements - Excellent spoken English with transparent, confident and easily understood communication.

- Experience supporting participants with traumatic or acquired brain injuries.
- Experience with spinal injuries and seizure management.
- Confident providing personal care and community access.
- Patient, reliable, trauma-informed and respectful.
- Experienced driver with a valid licence and insured vehicle.
- Based locally or familiar with Blacktown and surrounding suburbs.
- Comfortable following participant directions when driving.
- Available for regular, ongoing shifts.





Mandatory Compliance Requirements

Applicants must hold

- Current Australian Business Number (ABN).
- Appropriate business insurance, including Public Liability and Professional Indemnity Insurance.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- National Police Check.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Valid driver's licence and comprehensive vehicle insurance.
- Relevant qualifications and demonstrated disability support experience. This is an independent contractor position. Applicants must operate under their own ABN and maintain appropriate business insurance.

Shifts - Wednesday: 9:00 am – 3:00 pm - Friday: 9:00 am – 3:00 pm - Every second Sunday: 9:00 am – 3:00 pm Approximately 15 hours per week initially, with the potential to increase as the participant becomes comfortable.
