About the Client

South32 together with WorkPac are commencing recruitment for Operators to promote the equality of its workforce at Groote Eylandt Mining Company (GEMCO) in the Gulf of Carpentaria. South32 GEMCO is seeking experienced Multi-Skilled & Dump Truck operators to join our mining operations on Groote Eylandt. This is a FIFO role from Cairns or Darwin on a 7:7 roster, working 12.25-hour shifts across a day/night rotation.

What you will be doing:

Dump Truck Operator

Operating CAT 777, 785 & 793 within the mine site.

Multi Skilled

Operate multiple pieces of heavy mining equipment (listed below) in a production environment

Equipment Experience Required:

- Haul Trucks (e.g. CAT 777, 785, 793)

- Excavators (e.g. Hitachi EX1200, EX1900, EX3600)

- Loaders (e.g. CAT 992, 993)

- Dozers (e.g. CAT D10, D11)

- Graders (e.g. CAT 16M/24M)

- Water Carts

What you will need:

Dump Truck

Proven experience operating a minimum of CAT 777 in a mining workplace

Multi Skilled

Proven experience operating 3 or more of the above machine types in a mining environment





- Relevant RII competencies or equivalent tickets

- Current Australian Driver’s Licence

- Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening & Police clearance

- Strong commitment to safety and teamwork
