About the role

We are seeking a hands-on Financial Accountant / Finance Manager to oversee the day-to-day finance and accounting functions across a diverse group of entities, including private group companies, junior mining and gas exploration companies, and personal investment entities. Reporting directly to the CFO, the role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity and timeliness of financial reporting, accounting processes and compliance obligations across the Group.

The role covers the end-to-end finance function, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, taxation and compliance obligations such as BAS, PAYG, FBT and payroll tax, as well as daily accounting transactions. You will also manage intercompany loans and recharges and prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations across multiple entities. This is a broad, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working across different businesses, taking ownership of outcomes and wearing multiple hats within a small finance team.

The role would suit an experienced Financial Accountant looking to broaden their experience and progress towards a Finance Manager position, or an existing Finance Manager who enjoys remaining hands-on and working across a diverse portfolio of businesses. We are open to full-time and part-time applicants.

Key responsibilities





- Manage daily bookkeeping and month-end accounting processes across multiple entities.

- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations.

- Prepare BAS, PAYG, payroll tax and other statutory obligations accurately and on time.

- Administer payroll for full time, FIFO and casual employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

- Coordinate FBT reporting across Group entities.

- Manage and reconcile intercompany loans, transactions and recharges.

- Maintain accurate financial records and support the timely completion of month-end and year-end reporting.

- Support the CFO with financial analysis, reporting and ad hoc projects.

- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, controls and reporting.

About you

- A formal accounting qualification, part-qualification or relevant accounting studies, such as a Diploma or Certificate IV in Accounting, or be studying towards CPA Australia.

- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.

- Strong proficiency in Xero.

- Experience working across multiple entities, including intercompany loans and recharges.

- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.

- A self-directed approach and willingness to take ownership of outcomes rather than simply completing tasks.

- A proactive, hands-on mindset with an interest in continuous process improvement.

- Strong communication skills and the confidence to work directly with senior stakeholders.
