MPC Solutions Recruitment is seeking experienced Fixed Plant Boilermakers for an immediate start with our valued gold mining client, Catalyst Metals at Plutonic Gold Mine in Western Australia.

This is an excellent opportunity to join an established maintenance team supporting a busy gold processing operation, with ongoing work and the potential to transition into a permanent position after an initial 3-month period.

We are looking for reliable, safety-focused tradespeople with strong welding, fabrication and fixed plant maintenance experience.

Previous experience maintaining gold processing plants, particularly around crushing, milling and material-handling equipment, will be highly regarded.

- Pay Rate: $75.00–$90.00 per hour + superannuation, depending on experience.
- Roster: 8/6 - Days
- FIFO: Flights from Perth.
- Start Date: ASAP.
- Employment: Initial 3-month contract with potential to transition to permanent employment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned maintenance, breakdown repairs, welding and fabrication across the gold processing plant.
- Repair and fabricate chutes, hoppers, bins, conveyor structures, guards and associated steelwork.
- Replace worn liners and wear plates, and repair components exposed to abrasion and impact.
- Undertake boiler making repairs around crushing circuits, mills and associated processing infrastructure.
- Fabricate and repair platforms, walkways, handrails, brackets and equipment supports.




- Read engineering drawings, measure and mark out materials, and complete accurate fabrication and fit-up.
- Perform welding, cutting and gouging using suitable processes for the required repair.
- Assist with shutdowns, plant inspections and major maintenance activities.
- Follow isolation procedures, hot-work permits and site safety requirements.
- Work closely with maintenance supervisors, fitters and production teams to minimize downtime.
- Maintain high standards of safety, housekeeping and workmanship.

Essential Requirements
- Australian-recognized Boilermaker / Metal Fabrication trade qualification – essential.
- Previous boilermaking experience within a mineral processing or fixed plant maintenance environment.
- Robust welding and fabrication skills, including MIG and MMA/stick welding.
- Experience repairing chutes, hoppers, wear plates, conveyor structures and processing plant steelwork.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and complete fabrication work accurately.
- Current manual C Class driver’s license.
- Sound understanding of isolation procedures, permit-to-work systems and safe hot-work practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.




- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screening.
- Full Australian working rights – essential.

Highly Regarded
- Previous gold mining and gold processing plant maintenance experience.
- Experience supporting maintenance around crushing circuits, SAG and ball mills, and leach or adsorption plant infrastructure.
- Shutdown and breakdown maintenance experience.
- Current Working at Heights, Confined Space and Gas Testing qualifications.
- Relevant EWP, forklift, dogging or rigging high-risk work licenses.
- Dual-trade Boilermaker / Mechanical Fitter qualifications.
