Goldenlight Civil & Construction is a Canberra-based construction company specialising in steel reinforcement (REO), post-tensioning (PT), formwork carpentry, prefabrication, and structural welding. We deliver high-profile commercial, civil, and residential projects across the ACT, NSW, and QLD.

We are seeking skilled and experienced Formwork Carpenters to construct and install formwork for concrete structures on active sites across Canberra.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Preparation

- Study and interpret architectural drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine required materials, dimensions, and installation procedures.
- Order and select appropriate timbers, lightweight steel, wallboard, and other construction materials.
- Prepare layouts and plan workflows to meet project timelines and specifications.

Construction and Installation

- Assemble, cut, and shape materials using hand and power tools to create structures and fittings.
- Construct and install frameworks, panelized systems, roof framing, sub-flooring, floorboards, and other structural components.
- Erect and secure concrete formwork and assemble wooden, plastic, or metal frameworks and structures.
- Nail fascia panels, sheath roofs, and fit exterior wall cladding, as well as door and window frames.

Structural Integrity and Quality Control

- Verify the trueness and stability of structures through precise measurement and quality checks.
- Ensure compliance with building codes and project specifications.
- Carry out repairs and renovations to existing structures, including fittings and frameworks.

Tool Operation and Safety

- Operate hand and power tools, including chisels, saws, drills, and sanders, safely and efficiently.
- Maintain and service tools and equipment to ensure proper functionality.





Collaboration and Communication

- Work closely with construction teams, architects, and project managers to achieve project goals within deadlines.
- Communicate progress, challenges, and requirements effectively to relevant stakeholders.

Workplace Health and Safety (WHS)

- Perform all tasks in strict adherence to WHS requirements and safety standards.
- Identify and mitigate risks to ensure a safe working environment.

Customization and Finishing

- Cut wood joints and assemble prepared wood for custom structures and fittings.
- Work with specialized materials such as plastic laminates, Perspex, and metals for advanced projects.

Minimum Requirements:

- Proven experience as a Formwork Carpenter or in a similar role (minimum of 2 years).
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and tools.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Valid White Card, Asbestos Card, and Silica Awareness Training certification.
- Welding reinforcement experience.
- Reliable transportation and tools of the trade.

- Positive, can-do attitude and ability to work effectively in a team.
- Eagerness to learn and grow within the company.
- Valid driver’s license and access to transport (preferred).
