Key Responsibilities

- Prepare, cook and present a variety of Indian dishes according to established recipes and quality standards.

- Prepare ingredients including vegetables, meat, poultry, sauces, marinades and spices.

- Cook curries, tandoori dishes, rice dishes, breads and other menu items.

- Monitor food quality, portion sizes and presentation before meals are served.

- Assist with planning food preparation and maintaining efficient kitchen operations.

- Ensure ingredients and food products are stored correctly and safely.

- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and rotating food supplies.

- Maintain cleanliness of cooking areas, equipment and utensils.

- Follow food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety procedures.

- Work effectively with chefs, kitchen hands and other restaurant staff during busy service periods.

- Minimise food wastage and maintain consistent food quality.

Skills & Experience Required

- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery, Kitchen Management or an equivalent relevant qualification.

- Minimum 12 months of full-time relevant commercial cooking experience.





- Experience preparing Indian cuisine is highly regarded.

- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking methods and food safety requirements.

- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume restaurant setting.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a kitchen team.

- Good organisational and time-management skills.

- Ability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required.
