General Manager

UMENCO is seeking a General Manager for a contemporary retail destination, who are championing circular fashion through a considered approach to retail.

As the business enters its next phase of growth, they are seeking an experienced General Manager to lead its operations and shape the businesses future direction. Reporting to and partnering closely with the founders, the General Manager will take ownership of the day-to-day running of the business, translating strategic objectives into commercial performance across all locations. With responsibility for the P&L;, business operations and overall performance across both the resale and retail functions, this role will balance strategic leadership with a hands-on approach, ensuring the business is positioned for sustainable growth.

A key focus will be building and leading a high-performing team across Head Office and stores, developing the leadership capability of Store Managers and embedding the people, systems and processes required to support a growing multi-site business.

The General

Manager will establish consistent standards across customer experience, resale operations and store execution,



drive operational excellence and oversee the successful delivery of current store openings, while using data and technology to inform decision-making and improve business outcomes.

The ideal talent will bring significant senior leadership experience within a multi-site retail or service-led environment, with a proven track record of P&L; ownership, commercial performance and leading teams through growth. Commercially astute and operationally hands-on, they will be confident building scalable infrastructure, developing people and driving accountability across a business. A genuine interest in contemporary fashion, resale and the evolving circular retail landscape will be essential, alongside the ambition to make a meaningful impact on an established Australian business with considerable opportunity for future growth.
