Our client is contributing to a nationally significant data reform initiative focused on improving the collection, processing, storage and exchange of vocational education and training data.

The organisation is committed to protecting sensitive information, maintaining trusted digital services and meeting Australian Government security, privacy and governance requirements The Role An exciting opportunity is available for a Graduate Cyber Security Analyst to support the secure delivery of systems, information and digital services within the VET Data Streamlining Program.

Working under the guidance of senior security specialists, architects and technology professionals, you will assist with security monitoring, vulnerability management, compliance, risk and assurance activities.

Responsibilities

- Assist with monitoring and investigating security alerts, events and incidents
- Analyse security logs, reports and alerts to identify potential risks and anomalies
- Escalate security issues and support remediation activities under senior guidance
- Contribute to security assurance activities across program solutions and platforms
- Gather and maintain evidence for audits, reviews and IRAP-aligned assessments
- Document security controls, compliance activities, policies and procedures
- Support vulnerability scanning, assessment, reporting and remediation tracking
- Maintain security risk registers and associated treatment actions




- Assist with information security risk identification and assessment
- Review security configurations across Microsoft Azure services and resources
- Support identity, access management and cloud security monitoring activities
- Contribute to security awareness materials, governance reporting and guidance
- Collaborate with developers, architects, testers, analysts and infrastructure teams
- Support security engagement with vendors and delivery partners
- Maintain awareness of emerging cyber threats and security practice

What Our Client Requires

Essential

- Tertiary qualification in Cyber Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related discipline
- Foundational understanding of cyber security principles and practices
- Basic knowledge of network security, cloud security and identity and access management
- Awareness of vulnerability management and security monitoring concepts
- Robust analytical skills with the ability to identify patterns, risks and anomalies
- High attention to detail and a disciplined approach to documentation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Collaborative and customer-focused approach
- Integrity, professionalism, accountability and a willingness to learn
