Sydney | Permanent, full-time
You’ve laid out an itinerary spread. You know a destination map isn’t just artwork, and that one wrong date in a pricing table is a reprint.
Why this role
This is a design role inside the Creative & Content Studio of a luxury travel and touring business — the team behind the brochures, bespoke guides, destination publications and direct mail that put a journey in someone’s hands and make them want to book it.
Permanent and in-house, with a studio around you instead of agency churn. A tourism brand where print still carries real weight and real budget, because in this category the brochure is still how the holiday gets sold. A role that’s been deliberately grown, not trimmed. And a product you’ll actually enjoy designing for.
Before you apply
You’ll need 4 years in graphic design and hands-on InDesign production — paragraph and character styles, GREP, data merge, template-based artwork, print-ready files. Daily use, not familiarity. If that’s not you, this one won’t land. You’ll also need full, unrestricted working rights for Australia.
What You’ll Own
- Design of travel and touring brochures, direct mail, guides and destination publications
- Concepts, layouts and templates, through to print-ready and digital artwork
- Destination and tour maps, and selection of on-brand travel imagery
- Layout of itineraries, pricing, departure dates and product detail
- Briefs from Marketing, Product, Commercial, Lifecycle and Performance
- Proofing, approvals, version control,
print production and dispatch
- Stocks, formats and finishes, and the relationships with printers and mailing houses
- The master brochure schedule and seasonal launch deadlines
What You’ll Bring
- 4 years in graphic design, with genuine print and pre-press knowledge
- Deep InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
- Brochure and direct mail experience
- Multi-page layout craft: complex grids, typography, information hierarchy
- Accuracy under pressure when pricing, dates and itineraries are live
And here’s the flex
This has always been a design role. It’s been rebuilt to carry production too.
If you’ve already coordinated print end-to-end, brilliant. If you haven’t but you want to, that’s genuinely fine — they’re open to someone growing into it. Same with AI and automation tools: already using them is excellent, wanting to learn is enough.
Strong design is the part that isn’t negotiable.
Who this suits
Designers from tour operators, cruise lines, travel wholesalers, airlines, hotel and resort groups, tourism boards or travel retail — anyone who has survived a brochure launch and come out the other side.
Not from tourism? Premium considered-purchase categories translate well: property, automotive, luxury retail. The craft is the same. The product is better.
