Lead a busy drinks section and enjoy early finishes, evenings free and two consecutive days off every week.

Coffee & Kitchen East is looking for an experienced Head Barista with excellent coffee skills, proven leadership experience and a warm, engaging personality.

This is a hands-on role with responsibility for our complete hot and cold drinks section. You’ll lead the team, maintain consistently high beverage standards and keep service organised, efficient and welcoming.

Roster options

- Tuesday to Saturday: every Sunday and Monday off
- Sunday to Thursday: every Friday and Saturday off

Both options provide 38 hours per week. Please tell us your preferred roster when applying.

Your responsibilities

- Lead the entire hot and cold drinks section while working hands-on during service
- Produce consistently excellent espresso coffee, milk texture and latte art




- Dial in grinders and monitor extraction and coffee quality throughout the day
- Maintain consistent recipes, preparation and presentation across all beverages
- Organise drink orders, staff duties and workflow during busy periods
- Train, coach and support staff across coffee and cold drink preparation
- Oversee beverage stock, daily preparation, equipment care and section cleanliness
- Build friendly relationships with customers and regulars
- Communicate clearly with the kitchen and front-of-house team
- Assist with POS, food service and general opening and closing duties

About you

You have solid experience in a busy café and have previously led a barista or beverage section. You can maintain quality under pressure, organise the team and help others develop their skills.

You bring a friendly, bubbly personality and a professional approach to customer service. You lead by example, communicate respectfully and take pride in a clean, well-run section.

Reliability, punctuality and availability for early starts are essential.
