About the role
Odd Culture Group is looking for an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead the kitchen at one of our bistro venues in Sydney.
We're looking for someone who loves great food, takes pride in running a well-organised kitchen and understands that a successful kitchen is about more than what's on the plate. It's about building a strong team, maintaining consistency, managing costs and creating an environment where people enjoy coming to work.
This is an opportunity for a confident, hands-on chef who wants to take ownership of their kitchen, bring ideas to the table and make their mark within an independent hospitality group.
What you'll do
- Lead the day-to-day operation of the kitchen, from preparation through to service
- Develop and deliver a menu that reflects the venue's identity, focusing on quality, flavour, seasonality and consistency
- Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation and execution
- Lead, train and develop the kitchen team, creating a positive and accountable kitchen culture
- Manage food costs, GP, ordering, stock control and wastage
- Plan rosters and manage kitchen labour in line with business needs
- Maintain food safety, hygiene and kitchen compliance standards
- Work closely with venue management to drive performance and deliver a great guest experience
- Establish effective systems and procedures to keep the kitchen running smoothly
- Bring fresh ideas and continuously look for ways to improve the food offering and kitchen operations
About you
- Have previous experience as a Head Chef or an experienced Sous Chef ready to take the next step
- Have a strong background in quality restaurants,
bistros or similar hospitality venues
- Are confident leading a kitchen team through busy services
- Have a genuine passion for food, produce, menu development and consistent execution
- Understand food costing, GP, stock management, ordering and labour control
- Are organised, commercially minded and comfortable taking ownership of results
- Know how to develop people, set expectations and build a strong team culture
- Stay calm under pressure and lead by example
- Take pride in maintaining high standards without losing sight of the bigger picture
- Bring a team-oriented attitude and enjoy working closely with the wider venue team
About us

Why join Odd Culture Group?
- The opportunity to take ownership of a kitchen and shape its food offering

- The chance to work with different concepts and learn across a diverse collection of venues
- Opportunities to develop your career as the group continues to grow
If you're passionate about great food, enjoy leading a team and are ready to take ownership of a kitchen, we'd love to hear from you.
