Abaco Machines Australia is expanding our core sales team, and we’re looking for an experienced sales leader to help shape our next stage of growth.

Reporting to the General Manager, you’ll lead our account managers and other sales staff, develop our national sales plan and personally manage selected major clients and strategic relationships.

You’ll also bring our sales channels and internal teams together, helping turn customer demand into well-coordinated orders and sustainable growth.

Our material-handling equipment serves the stone, glass, tiling, construction, manufacturing, warehousing and broader industrial sectors.

What you’ll take ownership of

- National & International sales strategy. Develop and implement a practical sales plan, identify growth opportunities and set priorities across markets, territories and customer segments.
- Sales team leadership. Set targets, allocate accounts and leads, coach salespeople and review performance. Support important customer meetings and negotiations while building accountability across the team.
- Major clients and strategic relationships. Personally develop selected larger customers, key wholesalers, resellers and high-value prospects.
- Coordination across sales channels. Understand how Shopify and e-commerce, direct enquiries, field sales and wholesale accounts work together. Establish clear account ownership, consistent pricing practices and effective enquiry handovers.
- Sales reporting and commercial performance. Use Excel,

CRM data and other business systems to monitor sales, margins, pipeline, forecasts and channel performance. Present clear insights and recommended actions to management.
- Sales processes and standards. Establish effective routines for enquiry handling, quotations, follow-ups, CRM records and performance reviews. Identify training needs and help the team improve.
- Coordination with operations. Learn how stock availability, warehousing, picking, packing and dispatch work. Coordinate larger or complex orders with the relevant teams, support customer escalations and ensure sales commitments reflect operational capacity.
- Customer growth initiatives. Work with reception, administration and marketing on customer follow-ups, Google review campaigns, retention activities and other initiatives, setting clear responsibilities and reviewing results.
- Workflow improvement. Gather feedback from customers and colleagues, identify recurring problems and work with management and the relevant teams to implement practical improvements.

What’s in it for you?

- $125,000 including superannuation, plus commission. An attractive performance-based earning opportunity, with the commission structure discussed during the interview process.
- The opportunity to shape the sales function. Have a direct voice in strategy, team development, sales processes and commercial priorities.

- Long-term scope to grow. Strong leadership and results can lead to broader responsibilities as the business develops.
- An open approach to improvement. We value constructive feedback and are willing to improve workflows where there is a transparent benefit to customers, staff or business performance.

What you’ll bring

- Proven experience leading a sales team and delivering measurable growth.
- Strong skills in major account development, new-business sales and commercial negotiation.
- Experience setting sales plans, managing forecasts and working towards sales and margin targets.
- An understanding of e-commerce, direct sales, field sales and wholesale or reseller channels.
- Solid Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookup formulas and the ability to produce accurate, useful management reports.
- Confidence using CRM systems; Shopify experience will be highly regarded.
- The ability to coach staff, address performance issues constructively and coordinate effectively across departments.
- Willingness to learn our technical product range and understand day-to-day operations before recommending changes.
- A current driver’s licence and willingness to travel to meet clients
- Unrestricted, ongoing Australian working rights without the need for employer sponsorship.

Experience in industrial equipment, material handling, stone, glass, tiling construction, manufacturing or related sectors will be highly regarded. Experience developing reseller or distributor networks would also be valuable.
