About the OrganisationOur client is a Melbourne-based specialist insurance broker that pairs Financial Lines broking and risk advisory with its own data and technology platform. It is a Steadfast member with access to Lloyd's.It specialises in the wealth and financial services sector. Clients include retail advice businesses, licensees, boutique advisory practices, family offices, fund and asset managers, corporate advisers and accounting firms.The business has built its partnerships, data infrastructure and products, and is now scaling.

It runs a lean structure and competes with firms many times its size.

About the RoleWe're recruiting a Head of Practice to lead and grow the Wealth and Financial Institutions practice.The role reports to the Managing Director and sits on the leadership team. You'll keep your own client relationships and also work across strategy, business development, product, operations and technology.This is not a traditional management role with layers below it. It suits a senior Financial Lines Broker who wants ownership and a pathway to equity.

Responsibilities include:

- Leading, developing and growing the Wealth and Financial Institutions practice
- Building relationships with executive stakeholders at clients, insurers and partners
- Winning recent business through established referral partners and strategic relationships
- Running a consultative process with prospective clients through to appointment




- Negotiating with insurers in Australia and internationally
- Contributing to strategy across operations, product development and growth
- Improving CRM and workflows, and supporting the data products the business builds

About YouYou'll have at least 5 years in Financial Lines broking, placement or specialist insurance advisory, with exposure to the wealth and financial services sector.Ideally you'll bring:

- Knowledge of retail and wholesale advice, licensees, investment platforms and financial institutions
- Strong insurer relationships in Australia and internationally
- A track record of winning new business
- A real interest in technology and improving how work gets done
- Tertiary qualifications in Law, Finance or Commerce (highly regarded)

Financial Lines Brokers from global, national and specialist brokerages will be considered. What's on Offer
