About The Role

As the Library Assistant – Heritage Collection, you'll support the development and delivery of heritage services, collections, programs, and events while contributing to the day-to-day operation of library services across the region. Working closely with the Heritage Collection Supervisor,you'll assist with maintaining valuable historical resources and ensuring our heritage collections remain accessible and engaging for the community.

What You'll Be Doing

- Assisting with the development and maintenance of heritage collections and resources.
- Processing heritage information and photograph requests.
- Coordinating heritage displays, locally published acquisitions, and donated materials.
- Supporting and delivering heritage programs, activities, and community events.
- Providing outstanding customer service at library service desks.
- Assisting customers with memberships, borrowing, reservations, and enquiries.
- Helping library users access information, collections, technology, and equipment.
- Processing library sales and service transactions.
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and team objectives.

About You To be successful in this role, you will bring:





Essential Requirements

- Current Queensland C Class Driver Licence.
- Working with Children Blue Card.
- Experience working in a customer service and/or library environment.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to learn new technologies and systems.

Desirable

- Certificate II in Library and Information Studies (or higher).
- Knowledge of library systems, processes, and classification systems.
- An interest in local history, heritage collections, and community engagement.

In Addition, This Position Offers

- Base annual salary of $77,828 (Steam A Level 2)
- Up to 18% superannuation (conditions apply).




- Choice of 4 or 5 weeks’ annual leave with 17.5% leave loading.
