HR & Compliance Manager

CNQ Freight Services is seeking an experienced HR & Compliance Manager to join our team.

This key role is responsible for overseeing HR, transport compliance and workplace health and safety across our operations. We are looking for a confident, proactive professional with a robust understanding of the transport industry who can work autonomously, engage effectively with operational managers and drive accountability across the business.

About the Role

This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of HR, safety and transport compliance functions within an established transport business.

Responsibilities include:

- Monitor compliance with the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL), Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Manage NHVR accreditation, NHVAS and internal compliance systems, ensuring records and documentation remain accurate, current and audit-ready.
- Coordinate audits, manage non-conformances and drive corrective actions through to completion.
- Identify compliance risks and opportunities to improve systems, processes and operational performance.
- Manage WHS systems, risk assessments, safety registers, workplace inspections and corrective actions.
- Promote a proactive safety culture and ensure compliance with relevant WHS legislation and company requirements.




- Oversee employee compliance records, inductions, licences, medicals, training and competency requirements.
- Support HR processes, policy implementation and the confidential management of employee records.

About You

You will bring:

- Demonstrated experience managing transport compliance, WHS or related operational functions, preferably within the transport or logistics industry.
- Strong knowledge of the HVNL, CoR obligations and NHVR compliance requirements.
- Experience managing NHVAS Fatigue Management and Maintenance Management requirements.
- Strong understanding of WHS legislation, risk management and workplace safety systems.
- Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive accountability and manage competing priorities.
- A proactive leadership style, strong attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Relevant qualifications in WHS, HR, transport compliance, auditing or risk management will be highly regarded.
