About the Role

Reporting directly to the CEO, the HSEQ Manager will be a key member of LGM’s Senior Executive Team, working alongside other Senior Managers responsible for the day-to-day operations and continued growth of our business.

This is a hands-on leadership role with a strong focus on supporting our project teams and developing a positive, proactive HSEQ culture across our organisation.

You will be responsible for the effective implementation and continual improvement of LGM’s HSEQ Management Systems, working closely with Project Coordinators, Supervisors and site personnel through regular site engagement, education, coaching and mentoring.

The role will suit an experienced HSEQ professional who enjoys being visible in the field, building strong relationships and influencing positive outcomes rather than simply managing systems from an office.

Key Responsibilities

- Promote the consistent implementation of LGM’s HSEQ Plans, Procedures and Forms across all project sites, providing practical guidance and education to project personnel as required.
- Maintain regular engagement with Project Managers, Supervisors and work crews, including frequent site visits to understand operational activities, review processes and provide constructive feedback, coaching and mentoring.
- Support and educate project personnel in event reporting and investigation processes, including injury management, the identification of root causes and development of effective corrective actions.
- Manage the timely completion of all incident and improvement corrective actions for the business.
- Manage Occupational Health and Industrial Hygiene initiatives such that Australian Standards are met or exceeded.
- Identify, develop and implement practical HSEQ improvement initiatives and programs at project level.




- Coordinate and conduct internal audits of LGM’s HSEQ Management Systems across project sites in accordance with the audit schedule you develop providing clear reports covering observations, non-conformances and required corrective actions.
- Coordinate external certification audits to ISO 9001, 14001, 45001.
- Review and continually improve LGM’s HSEQ documentation, systems and procedures to ensure they remain compliant, effective and aligned with the needs of the business.
- Provide regular HSEQ communications to employees via Toolbox and otherwise, plus HSEQ performance reports to the Senior Executive team.
- Work collaboratively with the Senior Executive Team and project leadership to promote a strong, positive and proactive HSEQ culture throughout LGM.

About You To be successful in this role, you will have:

- A minimum of 5 years’ operational HSEQ experience in a site-based environment, preferably within the resources sector.
- A minimum Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety, with a Diploma in Work Health and Safety highly regarded.
- Demonstrated experience in root cause investigation methodologies such as ICAM, TapRooT or similar.
- Demonstrated experience implementing behavioural-based safety practices and initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience in HSEQ Management System development, review and auditing, with Lead Auditor qualifications highly regarded.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively with people at all levels of the organisation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A collaborative, team-oriented approach and a genuine “can-do” attitude.
- The ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment and manage competing priorities.
- A practical, hands-on approach with a genuine commitment to improving HSEQ outcomes.
