Qualified Air Conditioning Tradesman – Good Pay, Good Crew & Questionable Golf Skills

Vast Air Conditioning | Hunter Valley & Newcastle

$40–$44 per hour Super Company Van Sign-On Bonus

We’re hiring! And no, we’re not looking for someone who wants to be treated like just another number.

Vast Air Conditioning is a growing, family-owned air conditioning business servicing the Hunter Valley, Newcastle and surrounding areas.

We’re a small team that takes pride in doing quality work, having a laugh and actually enjoying turning up to work.

Business is getting busier, the jobs are rolling in, and we’re looking for another qualified tradesman to jump on board as we continue to grow.

What’s in it for you?

- $40–$44 per hour super, depending on experience.

- Company van – fully set up, stocked with tools and ready to go. No fighting over the good drill.

- Cash sign-on bonus – yep, we’re happy to put some money on the table for the right person. Details discussed during the interview.

- Small, easygoing team – no corporate nonsense or 15 managers breathing down your neck.

- Variety of work – mainly ducted and split system installations.

- Opportunity to run your own jobs and work alongside an apprentice.

- Room to grow – we’re expanding, and we’d love someone who wants to grow with us.

- A boss who actually gets on the tools – I quote the jobs, I install the jobs, and I’m not afraid to get my hands dirty.

Who are we looking for?

We’re after someone who

- Is a qualified air conditioning/refrigeration tradesman.

- Holds a current driver’s licence.

- Has the appropriate ARCtick refrigerant handling licence.

- Can confidently install ducted and split systems.

- Takes pride in their work and doesn’t cut corners.

- Can work independently and as part of a team.

- Has a good attitude, a bit of common sense and enjoys a laugh.

- Is happy to help an apprentice learn the ropes.

And most importantly…

Must enjoy golf. However, having a better handicap than the boss is strongly discouraged. We’ve already got enough problems without getting beaten on the weekend.

(Don’t actually have to play golf, but having a sense of humour is pretty important.)

A bit about us

We’re not trying to be the biggest air conditioning company around.

We’re trying to build a excellent team, do quality installs, look after our customers and create a workplace where everyone enjoys what they do.

Most of our work is residential ducted and split system installations, with plenty of opportunities ahead as the business continues expanding.

We’re looking for someone who wants to stick around, take ownership of their work and be part of building something good.
