IBM HATS Platform SME

Location: Sydney onsite or remote

About the Opportunity A leading technology consultancy is seeking an experienced IBM Host Access Transformation Services Platform Subject Matter Expert for a short-term specialist engagement.

You will provide technical leadership for the installation, configuration and deployment of IBM HATS, helping the end client establish a secure, resilient and supportable operating model. The engagement will also involve practical implementation support and knowledge transfer to the client’s engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

- Install and configure IBM Host Access Transformation Services
- Design and validate the target hosting approach on Azure Kubernetes Service
- Provide recommendations covering performance, scalability, resilience and supportability
- Advise on architecture best practices, common pitfalls and lessons learned
- Define suitable CI/CD, monitoring, operational-readiness and lifecycle-management approaches
- Provide guidance on security, networking, TLS and mainframe connectivity
- Support the joint implementation of initial reference APIs to establish reusable patterns
- Transfer knowledge and enable the client’s engineering team

Essential Skills and Experience

- Strong hands-on experience with IBM HATS
- Demonstrated ability to provide HATS configuration and operational guidance




- Sound knowledge of the recommended HATS v10 deployment architecture and supported runtime model
- Understanding of infrastructure and container-deployment best practices
- Experience advising on security, networking and TLS requirements
- Knowledge of mainframe connectivity considerations
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to engineering and stakeholder audiences
- Experience developing practical recommendations for performance, scalability, resilience and production support

Desirable Experience

- Azure Kubernetes Service deployment experience
- CI/CD and automated deployment practices
- API implementation and reusable integration patterns
- Monitoring, operational readiness and application lifecycle management
- Experience enabling engineering teams through technical guidance and knowledge transfer
