Industrial Designer & Project Manager

Location: Seven Hills, West of Sydney, with hybrid office and work-from-home position

Indicative salary: $60,000–$85,000, subject to experience and agreed scope

SPOS have a position available for a hands-on creative role for an industrial designer who can develop tailored retail solutions from sketch and concept through design, prototyping and production, while effectively coordinating production projects. You'll have the chance to work on projects for many of Australia's leading retailers and brands, creating solutions that are seen by thousands of consumers every day.

The opportunity. We are seeking a motivated, organised and creative Industrial Designer to join our bespoke design team. The successful candidate will contribute strong visual and conceptual thinking, then help manage each solution through detailed design, communication and production. This role suits someone who takes pride in presentation, enjoys collaboration and wants their ideas to become real, high-quality retail outcomes.

Beyond industrial design for retail, this role requires ownership of production projects through concept, development, production and delivery,



acting as the key coordinator between factories/suppliers and the sales team. A hands on approach is also a great plus, the ability to build up concepts, prototypes and familiarity with 3D Printing & use of our on site tools to make solution modifications and mock-ups is a big plus.

What the role entails

· Developing sketches, concepts and presentation material efficiently and to a high standard.

· Creating and refining production-ready designs using SolidWorks, with KeyShot rendering where appropriate.

· Using Illustrator and Photoshop to support concepts, presentations and client communication.

· Managing production projects from design brief through prototyping, production and delivery.

· Applying practical knowledge of materials, manufacturing and production processes.

· Presenting ideas confidently to internal team members.

· Working with the sales team to strengthen solution offerings that develop client relationships.

Proposed candidate

Must-have: Unrestricted right to work in Australia. Relevant industrial design experience; strong visual thinking and concept-building ability. Effective time and project management. Confident communication. Pride in quality and presentation. Collaborative approach.

Preferred: SolidWorks and KeyShot; Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; Microsoft Excel and Outlook; understanding of materials and production processes; experience supporting retail sales activity or developing client relationships. A positive personality that encourages communication, collaboration and creative problem-solving within a highly engaged sales & design team.
