Junior Team Member (Casual)
Maxi-Jazz Dance Studio · Cameron Park NSW · Casual
About us
Maxi-Jazz Dance Studio has been part of the Newcastle and Lake Macquarie community for 39 years, welcoming more than 350 students every week across dance and cheer. Our mission is to empower students to become more than they imagined possible, and that starts with our team.
About the role
We're looking for Junior Team Members to join our Dream Team. This is a whole-of-studio role, not just class assisting. You'll work across:
- The Welcome Desk: greeting families, answering questions, and handling retail and canteen sales
- Events and parties: concerts, showcases, Presentation Day and studio parties, including setup and pack-down
- Behind-the-scenes tasks: anything the studio needs, from costume sorting to event prep
- Classes: assisting our lead teachers where required
We aim to give you regular weekly shifts, for example one Welcome Desk shift plus a few classes to assist in. Extra shifts come up around events and school holidays. As a casual role, hours aren't guaranteed and will vary with what the studio needs. Why you'll love this role
Every week we welcome more than 350 students and their families through our doors, and every one of them deserves to feel nurtured, supported and at home. Our Junior Team Members are a big part of making that happen, which is why this role matters so much to us.
You'll get real experience working with customers, families, students and co-workers, and meeting workplace expectations, all in a nurturing and supportive environment. We love training and coaching our team, and we believe everyone is a leader. That's what makes this role so rewarding.
If you'd like to keep growing with us,
there are opportunities to move into further roles at Maxi-Jazz over time.

- Real-world experience working with customers, families, students and co-workers
- Full training and coaching from day one
