Labourer / Workshop Assistant

Harrybilt Engineering is a family owned business based in Ballarat. With 40 years’ experience supporting a range of fabrication and manufacturing work, we’re looking for people who are keen to work, learn, and grow with us.

About the Role

Harrybilt Engineering specialises in Road Rail Trucks, Excavators, Trailers and Rail Maintenance Attachments. As a Labourer / Workshop Assistant, you’ll play an important support role within our workshop, helping keep jobs moving and supporting our skilled trade’s team. This is a varied, practical role where you will learn new skills on the job.

Your duties will include

- Operating workshop saws
- Assisting with stores duties, including:
- Picking and preparing parts
- Pick ups and drop offs
- General workshop and equipment maintenance
- Basic attachment fitting
- Assembly work (including wheels and related components)
- Paint Prep




- Operating Brake Press

What We’re Looking For

We’re focused on attitude and work ethic. You don’t need to be a qualified tradesperson to apply.

Ideally, you will have:

- A strong willingness to learn and take direction
- A reliable and positive approach to work
- The ability to work well in a team environment
- Basic mechanical aptitude or hands‑on experience (helpful but not essential)
- A current driver’s licence
- Previous workshop or labouring experience is an advantage
