GemLife is looking for an experienced Landscape Gardener to join our construction team, with opportunities available at our Kilcoy project in South East Queensland.

You'll undertake a variety of landscaping construction and site maintenance works, helping create and maintain the high-quality outdoor environments our resorts are known for. From planting and garden establishment through to irrigation, turfing and general grounds maintenance, you'll play an important role in delivering projects to a high standard.

A day in the life

You'll work across active construction sites and completed resort areas, carrying out soft and hard landscaping activities, planting trees and shrubs, establishing garden beds and maintaining outdoor spaces. You'll operate landscaping equipment, assist with irrigation works, complete site clean-up duties and work closely with Site Managers, supervisors and fellow trades to ensure projects remain on schedule and presentation standards are maintained.

Job Duties

- Complete soft landscaping works including tree, shrub and groundcover planting.
- Assist with hard landscaping activities including paving, edging, retaining walls and pathways.
- Prepare soil, garden beds and planting areas for landscape installation.
- Install and maintain irrigation systems as required.
- Lay turf, mulch garden beds and establish landscaped areas.
- Perform general garden maintenance including mowing, pruning, hedging, weeding and fertilising.
- Maintain the presentation of display homes, common areas and construction sites.
- Operate landscaping equipment and machinery safely and efficiently.
- Conduct site clean-up and removal of green waste and construction debris.




- Monitor landscaped areas and identify maintenance or remedial requirements.
- Operate small excavators and machinery where licensed and authorised.
- Work collaboratively with Site Managers, supervisors, contractors and other trades to achieve project deadlines.
- Follow all workplace health and safety requirements and safe work procedures.
- Maintain a high standard of workmanship while ensuring tasks are completed within required timeframes.

What you'll bring

Required Skills
- Minimum 2 years' landscaping experience, ideally within construction or commercial environments.
- Experience in soft landscaping, garden establishment and general landscape maintenance.
- Knowledge of irrigation systems and landscape maintenance practices.
- Ability to operate landscaping tools, equipment and machinery safely.
- Experience with planting, turfing, mulching, pruning and hedging.
- Strong understanding of site safety and secure manual handling practices.
- Ability to work from plans, instructions and project specifications.
- Current White Card.
- Current driver's licence.
- Small plant or machinery tickets advantageous but not essential.
- Strong work ethic, reliability and attention to detail.
- Positive attitude and ability to work effectively within a team setting.
