Vital Ease is a growing construction and building services company delivering commercial refurbishments, fitouts, carpentry works and building modifications across Melbourne and regional Victoria.

We're looking for an experienced, hands-on Leading Hand Carpenter to join our team, take ownership of commercial carpentry projects and coordinate trades to deliver high-quality workmanship.

This role is ideal for a carpenter with a strong background in commercial fitouts, shopfitting and refurbishments who is ready to lead jobs while remaining actively involved on the tools.

About the Role

You'll be responsible for

- Leading and completing commercial carpentry projects from start to finish.
- Coordinating and supervising carpenters, subcontractors and other trades onsite.
- Managing daily site activities, workmanship, materials and project timelines.
- Using Simpro for job management, scheduling updates, documentation and reporting.
- Reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
- Completing general carpentry, installation and refurbishment works.
- Maintaining site safety, quality standards and a clean working environment.
- Communicating with project managers to ensure projects are delivered efficiently.

Skills & Experience Required

We're looking for someone with demonstrated experience in:

- Metal stud framing – setting out, framing and installation.
- Door and frame installation – aluminium and steel door frames, internal and external doors, hardware and associated fittings.
- Plasterboard installation – wall and ceiling sheeting.
- Suspended ceilings – installation of concealed and exposed ceiling grid systems.
- Finishing carpentry – skirtings, architraves, trims and general fitout finishes.




- Commercial shopfitting, refurbishments and fitouts.
- Supervising other trades and managing multiple onsite activities.
- Delivering consistently high-quality workmanship with excellent attention to detail.
- Keeping track of materials & organising timely deliveries of the relevant building materials to keep jobs running efficiently.

What You'll Need
- Trade qualification in carpentry.
- Proven commercial carpentry and fitout experience.
- Previous leading hand or site supervisory experience preferred.
- Ability to work independently and manage other trades.
- Solid communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
- White Card and valid driver's licence.
- Own carpentry tools and equipment.
- Comfortable using digital job management systems (Simpro experience advantageous).
