All State Group Services (ASGS) is a South Australian demolition and asbestos removal contractor undertaking a wide range of domestic, commercial, and industrial demolition projects across Adelaide and surrounding areas.

We are currently seeking an experienced Machine Operator / Excavator Operator to join our team.

The successful applicant must have experience in operating excavators ranging from approximately 14T through to 40T and have a strong understanding of demolition works and working safely around structures, services, plant, and personnel.

The Role The position will involve operating excavators and other demolition plant to undertake a variety of demolition activities across domestic, commercial, and industrial sites, including:

Operating 14T to 40T excavators for demolition works

Structural demolition of residential, commercial, and industrial buildings

Controlled demolition of buildings and structures

Concrete, brick, steel, and general building demolition

Excavation and removal of footings, slabs, and hardstand areas

Loading demolition materials into trucks and processing areas

Sorting and separating demolition materials for recycling

Working around existing services and other site hazards

Operating attachments including hydraulic hammers, grabs, shears, and other demolition attachments

Assisting with site clean-up and general demolition activities when required

Completing daily plant pre-starts and reporting any plant defects or maintenance requirements

Working in accordance with ASGS SWMS, safety procedures and site requirements

About You





We are looking for an operator who:

Has demonstrated experience operating 14T–40T excavators

Has previous demolition experience, preferably in both domestic and commercial environments

Is confident operating machinery around buildings, structures, and other workers

Can safely and accurately undertake controlled demolition

Has experience using a range of demolition attachments

Takes pride in their work and looks after plant and equipment

Understands the importance of safe work practices and following SWMS and site procedures

Can work independently and as part of a demolition crew

Has effective communication skills and a reliable work ethic

Is willing to assist with general site duties when required

Holds a current driver's licence

White Card is essential

Relevant plant tickets essential
