Assistant Venue Manager / Shift Manager – Game Over Gold Coast

Help lead a busy indoor family entertainment venue in Helensvale

Game Over Gold Coast is seeking a Shift Manager or Assistant Venue Manager, with the appointment dependent on your experience and leadership capability.

This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who enjoys leading from the floor, supporting their team and ensuring guests have a fantastic experience.

About Game Over

Game Over operates six indoor entertainment venues across Australia and New Zealand, bringing people together for birthday parties, corporate events, family outings and social gatherings.

Our Gold Coast venue offers electric go-karting, Clip ’n Climb, laser tag, mini golf and arcade games, with bowling being added to our attraction lineup.

About the Role

Reporting to the Venue Manager, you will help oversee daily operations, lead staff during your shifts and maintain high standards of safety, service and presentation.

Your responsibilities will include

- Leading shifts and coordinating staff across reception and attractions

- Allocating duties, managing breaks and adjusting staffing to meet demand

- Supporting and coaching staff to deliver friendly, efficient customer service

- Ensuring safety procedures, opening and closing checks, and operational standards are followed

- Keeping activities, bookings, parties and events running smoothly

- Handling customer enquiries, feedback and complaints professionally

- Training new team members and developing their confidence and skills

- Supporting sales, productivity and labour cost targets

- Maintaining a clean, organised and welcoming venue

- Taking charge of venue operations in the Venue Manager’s absence, as required

For an Assistant Venue Manager appointment, the role will also include greater involvement in rostering, recruitment,



performance management and operational planning.

About You

We are looking for a reliable, confident leader who enjoys working with people and takes pride in running a well-organised shift.

You may currently be a:

- Shift Manager or Shift Supervisor

- Assistant Restaurant Manager

- Retail Assistant Manager or Team Leader

- Hospitality or Entertainment Supervisor

- Duty Manager or Assistant Venue Manager

Leadership experience with QSR brands such as McDonald’s, Guzman y Gomez, Grill’d, Zambrero or similar businesses will be highly regarded.

To be successful, you will demonstrate:

- Experience supervising staff in a busy customer-focused environment
- The confidence to give clear direction and hold staff accountable

- Strong communication, organisation and time management skills
- A practical approach to solving problems and staying calm under pressure
- A commitment to safety and consistent operating standards
- A willingness to get involved wherever the team needs support
- An interest in training and developing others

- Availability to work a roster that includes weekends, school holidays and public holidays

Previous experience in family entertainment is welcome, but robust leadership skills and the right attitude are equally important.
