Matching Minds | In-Home, One-on-One Tutoring

Matching Minds is looking for knowledgeable, enthusiastic and engaging Maths tutors to support students from Years 1 to 10 across Yarraville and Melbourne's inner-west.

Being good at Maths is one thing. Being able to explain it in a way that finally makes sense to a student is another.

We're looking for tutors who can do both.

Whether you're a university student, an experienced tutor or a qualified teacher, what matters most to us is your subject knowledge, your ability to engage students and your passion for helping them succeed.

About the Role

You'll deliver personalised, one-on-one Maths tutoring in students' homes, helping them strengthen their understanding, overcome learning challenges and develop confidence in their abilities.

You'll support students with

- Foundational numeracy and mathematical concepts
- Fractions, decimals, percentages and problem-solving
- Algebra, geometry and measurement
- Mathematical reasoning and critical thinking
- School assessments, homework and exam preparation
- Building confidence and a positive attitude towards Maths

What We're Looking For
- Strong Maths knowledge across Years 1–10 and an understanding of the Victorian curriculum
- The ability to break down complex concepts into easy, easy-to-understand explanations
- An engaging, patient and approachable personality




- The ability to adapt your teaching style to different students and learning needs
- Excellent communication skills and reliability
- A genuine ability to connect with children and teenagers
- A current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain one before commencing)

Previous tutoring or teaching experience is an advantage, but not essential. We're more interested in your ability to make Maths click for students than the qualifications on your CV.

Pay: $30.00 – $40.00 per hour
