About the role

This full-time role at RSL Tasmania is a statewide role and can be based in Hobart, Launceston or Devonport. The Media, Marketing & Communications Officer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering RSL Tasmania's media, marketing and communications activities. Operating with a high level of autonomy and professional judgement, the role supports the organisation's public profile, stakeholder engagement and brand presence across print, digital and media channels.

The role is crucial in establishing and sustaining clear, consistent and effective communications that align with RSL Tasmania's strategic goals and community impact.

Key responsibilities

- Plan, develop and deliver communications across print, digital and media channels aligned with organisational priorities

- Draft, edit and proofread content including media releases, newsletters, website copy, promotional materials, reports and stakeholder communications

- Ensure brand consistency and accuracy across all communications outputs

- Coordinate content development and production of RSL Tasmania publications, including the On Service magazine

- Support the planning and delivery of marketing campaigns, event promotion and awareness initiatives

- Maintain communications calendars and coordinate content release schedules

- Support media engagement activities, including responding to enquiries and preparing briefing materials

- Liaise with internal teams, volunteers and external stakeholders to gather content, coordinate approvals and ensure consistent messaging

- Manage and maintain website content to ensure accuracy, relevance and currency

- Contribute to the development, implementation and review of communications systems, processes and guidelines

About you

- A proactive, self-motivated person who takes initiative, identifies opportunities and follows through to deliver results





- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with minimal supervision, take ownership of tasks from start to finish, and exercise sound judgement about when to seek advice or approval

- Demonstrated experience in media, marketing and/or communications

- Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills, with experience producing qualified publications, digital content and stakeholder communications

- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- A practical, creative approach to problem-solving, with the ability to deliver quality outcomes within available resources

- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships with staff, volunteers, media and external stakeholders

- Sound digital literacy, including experience managing websites, using content management systems and delivering social media content

- Entitlement to work in Australia
