Salary: $83,200 plus 12 % superannuation

Our client, Abigail Holdings Pty Ltd trading as Fleet Pro Mechanical, is an established automotive mechanical service provider specialising in light and heavy vehicle maintenance, mechanical repairs, fleet servicing and vehicle inspections. Based in Minto, New South Wales, Fleet Pro Mechanical provides workshop-based and mobile mechanical services across Sydney and surrounding regions. Its services include mechanical and electrical repairs, preventative maintenance, mobile petrol/ diesel mechanical services, vehicle inspections, ECU mapping and maintenance of specialised vehicle systems.

The business is seeking a qualified and experienced Motor Mechanic to join its team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing mechanical faults, servicing and repairing vehicles, conducting inspections and preventative maintenance, and ensuring that all work is completed to the required standards of safety, reliability and workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using appropriate diagnostic equipment and technical information.
- Conduct comprehensive vehicle inspections to identify mechanical defects, wear and tear, and maintenance requirements.
- Perform scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance and mechanical repairs on all types of light vehicles.
- Inspect, repair and replace engine components, cooling systems, braking systems, steering, suspension and driveline components.
- Diagnose and repair faults in engines, fuel systems, transmission systems and associated mechanical components.
- Carry out electrical system diagnostics and repair vehicle electrical components and wiring where required.
- Inspect, dismantle, repair, replace and reassemble defective mechanical assemblies and vehicle components.




- Undertake preventative maintenance to improve vehicle reliability, reduce breakdowns and minimise fleet downtime.
- Conduct roadworthiness and safety inspections in accordance with applicable requirements and the scope of the business's inspection authorisations.
- Perform mobile mechanical repairs and breakdown assistance where required.
- Interpret technical manuals, diagnostic reports and service documentation to determine appropriate repair procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, servicing activities, parts used and additional work identified.
- Identify further maintenance requirements and communicate repair recommendations to the workshop manager or relevant personnel.
- Ensure that tools, equipment and workshop facilities are maintained in a protected, clean and organised condition.
- Comply with workplace health and safety requirements, environmental procedures and relevant vehicle safety standards.
- Work collaboratively with other mechanics and workshop personnel to complete jobs efficiently and maintain high standards of customer service.

Skills and Qualifications

- Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or an equivalent relevant automotive mechanical qualification.
- Minimum one year of relevant post-qualification experience as a Motor Mechanic.
- Strong knowledge of petrol engines, vehicle mechanical systems, fault diagnosis and preventative maintenance procedures.
- Ability to use diagnostic equipment, technical manuals and workshop tools effectively.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications, service records and diagnostic reports.
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Good communication skills and the ability to document repairs and communicate maintenance recommendations.
- A valid driver's licence will be advantageous.
