Role Description The Node.js Express Developer role is a full-time remote position responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining server-side applications and APIs using Node.js and Express. On a day-to-day basis, the developer will build and optimize RESTful services, integrate third-party APIs, and ensure secure, scalable, and efficient backend architecture. The role involves collaborating with front-end developers, product owners, and other team members to translate requirements into technical solutions, writing clean and testable code, and performing code reviews.

The developer will also troubleshoot production issues,



implement best practices for performance and security, and contribute to documentation and continuous improvement of the development process.

Qualifications

- Strong proficiency in Node.js and Express.js for building and maintaining server-side applications and APIs.
- Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript, asynchronous programming, and RESTful API design and integration.
- Practical knowledge of databases (e.g., MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL) and ORM/ODM tools.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows.
- Understanding of web security, authentication/authorization (e.g., JWT, OAuth), and performance optimization.
- Experience with testing frameworks and tools (e.g., Jest, Mocha, Chai) for unit and integration testing.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote environment, manage time independently, and communicate clearly with distributed teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (e.g., Docker) is a plus.
- Interest in continuous learning, staying current with Node.js and backend development best practices.
