Grow your skills in community OT, with guidance as your caseload develops

Starting your OT career, or looking for your next opportunity after a year or two in practice?

Join Cross Care Group’s Allied Health team and help people build independence, participate in everyday activities and live more safely at home and in their communities. You’ll develop your assessment, therapy and clinical reasoning skills with practical guidance and work matched to your experience.

Southport, Gold Coast | Full-time or part-time

Community appointments across the Gold Coast and/or Brisbane, alongside work-from-home report and administration days.

What you’ll receive

- $80,000–$95,000 plus superannuation, depending on experience.

- $2,000 annual CPD allowance to support your professional development.

- Structured induction and a gradual caseload build, with responsibilities matched to your clinical capability.

- Clinical guidance and feedback on assessments, clinical reasoning and reports, with explicit pathways for discussing complex matters.

- Work-from-home report and administration days alongside community appointments.

- Administration and scheduling support, plus templates and practical resources.

- Company laptop and phone, and reimbursement for approved work-related travel.

Support for your stage of practice For new graduates, the focus is on strong foundations: understanding a person’s goals, completing assessments, planning therapy and writing clear, useful reports. Previous paid OT experience is not required—your placements, willingness to learn and approach to working with people matter.

For OTs with 1–2 years’ experience, you’ll have opportunities to strengthen your clinical judgement, broaden your skills and take on increasing responsibility, with support appropriate to your experience.

The work you’ll do

You’ll work with clients, families, carers and other professionals to turn everyday goals into practical assessment findings, therapy plans and recommendations. Your work may include:

- Functional capacity and daily living assessments.

- Therapy supporting everyday routines, independence and participation.

- Assistive technology recommendations and trials.

- Home and environmental recommendations that improve safety and function.

- Clear clinical reports, progress notes and practical recommendations.

- Collaboration with families, support teams and other health professionals.

Your caseload and the complexity of your work will be matched to your experience and clinical capability as your skills develop.

What you’ll bring

- An Occupational Therapy qualification.

- Current AHPRA registration, or eligibility to obtain registration before commencing practice.

- An Australian driver licence and a reliable vehicle for community appointments.

- Australian work rights and the ability to meet relevant screening requirements.

- Respectful communication, sound organisation and follow-through.

- An interest in meaningful everyday outcomes, and a willingness to seek guidance and develop your clinical reasoning and report-writing skills.
