Payroll Officer needed for a role until July 2027.

Your new company An established not-for-profit organisation is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join its collaborative payroll team on a fixed-term contract through to July 2027. Supporting a large and diverse workforce, this role offers the opportunity to work in a high-volume payroll environment where accuracy, customer service and compliance are highly valued

Your new role

Reporting to the Payroll Team Leader, you will play a key role in delivering accurate and timely payroll services while providing exceptional support to internal stakeholders.

- Assist with end-to-end payroll processing for a large workforce
- Process payroll changes including commencements, variations and terminations
- Review and validate timesheets prior to payroll processing
- Maintain accurate employee payroll records and documentation
- Respond to payroll enquiries from employees and managers
- Prepare payroll reports and assist with payroll reconciliations
- Support workers compensation administration and reconciliations
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across payroll processes
- Ensure compliance with awards, enterprise agreements and legislative requirements
- Provide high-quality customer service to a broad range of stakeholders

What you'll need to succeed




- Previous payroll experience in a high-volume environment
- Strong payroll data entry and administration skills
- Experience working with multiple awards and enterprise agreements
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Advanced customer service and stakeholder management skills
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office capabilities
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- A proactive approach with a continuous improvement mindset
- Experience with payroll systems such as Preceda or similar platforms highly regarded
- Exposure to time and attendance systems advantageous
